Discover the art of creating extraordinary science at SEB’s Annual Meeting in Florence, Italy from 3 – 6 July 2018 at the Firenze Fiera Congress and Exhibition Centre.

SEB’s Annual Meeting is celebrated for creating the perfect composition of research, new discoveries and collaborative connections. Be creative and innovative by exchanging ideas and knowledge with masters of biology from all over the world.

2018 will find over 800 experimental biologists from across the globe converging on one of the world’s most famous homes of artistic treasures for the first time. Easy to reach from many international locations, Florence is the capital of Italy’s beautiful Tuscany region and the home to many masterpieces of Renaissance Art.

Soak up the Mediterranean climate, savour the vibrant restaurant and nightlife scene, and enjoy lively culture that goes beyond old masters to embrace opera, classical music and contemporary art.

Two spectacular buildings will play host to the conference – Palazzo dei Congressi, a beautiful and historic venue within the 19th century Villa Vittoria and the adjacent Palazzo degli Affari which borders a centuries-old park, with rare and original trees and plants.

The showcasing of talent, scientific knowledge and recent discoveries will take centre stage at the Annual Meeting. With sessions ranging from metabolic diversity to morphogenesis in non-flowering plants and quantitative synthetic biology to green microbes, an innovative, creative and engaging programme awaits you.

Gain a fresh perspective.

Conference highlights include:

  • Engage with over 800 attendees within the experimental biology community
