Have your say in Florence, tell us what you think!

The SEB Council will be holding its first Community Session in Florence and the theme of this year’s session is ‘SEB – the Future.’

Join us at this lunchtime session on Thursday 5 July 2018 to meet the President, Officers, Section Chairs and other members of Council and share your ideas on what the SEB should be focusing on in the coming years.

The SEB Council is currently revising its strategic plan for the Society and Professor Christine Raines, President of the SEB, will update members on developing plans and strategic objectives for the Society for the upcoming 5 years, 2018 to 2023. The Council will be holding session of Council in November 2018 to agree the new Strategic Plan.

If you would like to view our strategic plan for 2013 to 2018, this can be found on our website.

Be amongst the first to hear what they are considering and make your own suggestions for ways in which the Society can increase our charitable outputs. The Council is keen to involve the membership as it considers how best to develop and improve the SEB.

If you would like to send a question in advance please email it to abstract@sebiology.org by 4 July 2018.

There will also be a suggestions box at the registration desk where you can make suggestions on SEB Strategic Policy or conference matters. We would encourage you all to take part.

In future years, the Society intends to hold one of these community sessions at the Annual Meeting each year providing an opportunity to promote the work undertaken in year (that will be promoted in the annual report) and to discuss future initiatives.

Throughout the year, the membership will receive regular updates on events and future plans in the biannual magazine and monthly newsletter.

We look forward to hearing your views.
