The venue for this meeting will be the Franklin Wilkins Building on the Waterloo Campus at King’s College, the oldest of the London University Colleges. The building, which is named after Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin for their crucial contribution to the discovery of the structure of DNA, provides modern, air-conditioned facilities on a very compact site. Outside the conference venue, London provides a wealth of cultural and historical attractions for delegates to explore. The city also offers excellent nightlife with numerous restaurants and bars. The city is a transport hub and can be easily accessed on all forms of public transport.

Directions to the Conference Venue

 The Conference is being held in the Franklin - Wilkins Building at King’s College’s Waterloo Campus.  The nearest tube stations to the venue are Waterloo and Waterloo East and the nearest mainline station is Waterloo.  To reach the venue Waterloo, take the exit for the IMAX cinema.  From there, follow signs to King’s College London and Stamford Street.  As you walk up Stamford Street, the Franklin Wilkins building is on your left. 

If you are arriving into Gatwick Airport then you can take the Gatwick Express from Victoria (www.gatwickexpress.com) and then get the tube from Victoria.  You will need to get the circle & district line eastbound to Westminster and then change to the Jubilee line eastbound to Waterloo.  

If you are arriving into Heathrow Airport then you can take the Heathrow Express (www.heathrowexpress.com) to London Paddington and then take the Bakerloo line towards Elephant and Castle to Waterloo.

Alternatively, you can take the Piccadilly Line eastbound to Piccadilly Circus and then the Bakerloo line towards Elephant and Castle to Waterloo.

Once you arrive at the building, go in the main entrance of the building and continue straight up into the main concourse.  The SEB registration desk will be in the main concourse and SEB staff will be on hand to direct you from there.

Accommodation and Breakfast

For those of you staying at the venue accommodation is in the Stamford Street Apartments. 

The Apartments are on Stamford Street opposite the Franklin-Wilkins Building so directions are as above except the apartments are on the right-hand side of Stamford Street.

You may check-in to the apartments from 14:00 on the day of arrival.  You will be able to store luggage if you arrive before this time but will not necessarily have access to your room.  You can check in between 14:00 and 19:00.  After 19:00 you will need to buzz through to security.  Please let us know in advance if you are arriving later than 21:00 so we can inform the venue.  

Check- out is at 10:00 on the day of departure.  A luggage storage facility is available for a limited number of bags at the Franklin Wilkins building on the 4th and 5th September only, although all articles are left at the owner’s risk.  

Continental breakfast will be served to delegates staying in the Stamford Street Apartments at the following times:

Monday 3rd September:  08:00 – 10:00

Tuesday 4th September: 07:30 – 08:45

Wednesday 5th September: 07:30 – 09:00

Thursday 6th September: 08:00 – 10:00

Breakfast will be served in the restaurant of the Franklin Wilkins Building opposite the apartments, where the rest of the conference is taking place.
