What would you tell Darwin?
28 - 29 June 2009
An international celebration of Darwin's world-shattering ideas in the modern scientific context.
The SEB presents a truly multi-disciplinary multi-functional 2-day session in collaboration with the Biochemical Society, British Ecological Society, Journal of Experimental Botany, New Phytologist and the Higher Education Academy Centre for Bioscience. The speakers will present a review of their research fields which will be of interest to animal, plant and cell biologists and to university teachers looking for accessible research-led teaching materials.

Evolution of Evolution Teaching & Learning Workshop (Monday 29th June, 15.00 – 17.00)
On Monday afternoon an optional teaching workshop will bring together university teachers who will be able to swap ideas and the resources they use to teach aspects of evolution to their students. Semi-formal presentations of tried and tested materials will be presented and there will be plenty of time for informal discussion and the opportunity to stay in touch after the meeting.
How to register for this Event
For those planning to attend this 2-day session consider joining the SEB which will bring the early-bird registration cost down to £256 for full delegates (£200 registration + £56 membership fee); £225 for junior postdoctorals and only £60 for students (£50 registration + £10 membership fee) - see the registration pages for more information.
Evolution of Evolution Public Outreach Event (Tuesday, Wednesday 30 June, 1st July)
Complementing this event is the Evolution Outreach event which is taking place in the Glasgow Science Centre (30 June and 1st July).
