SEB Prague 2010 - Travel Information
Travelling to the Clarion Congress Hotel
The airport has no direct metro or train connection with the city centre but is easily accessible by taxi or bus.
Buses
Four local buses connect the airport to metro stations.
No. 119 goes to Metro Dejvicka - green line A (25 minutes)
No. 108 goes to Metro Hradcanska - green line A
No. 179 goes to Metro Nove Butovice - yellow line B (45minutes)
No. 100 goes to Metro Zlicin - yellow line B (16 minutes)
Local buses run between 5.00am and 12.00am, approximately every 20 minutes and cost about 26 Kc. These buses can be found directly outside the arrivals terminal, but you will need to ensure that you are at the correct stop for your chosen bus, as it will not wait for you and will not pick you up from another bus stop!
There is also a relatively cheap airport bus which will get you to Namesti Republiky in the city centre. These buses run roughly every half hour during daytime until approximately 21:30.
There is an information centre in Prague Ruzyne airport, where you can purchase tickets for travel on the buses. This closes at approximately 10.00pm. After this time you can buy tickets directly from the bus driver, but these will cost a little bit more. If you arrive later than 10.00pm we recommend that you visit the taxi booking centre, also located in the airport, and take a taxi to your destination.
Please note that you must have a valid ticket when travelling on buses or the metro - failure to comply will result in a night or two in the company of the local police.
Metro
To get to the Metro, you will need to take one of the buses mentioned above. Click here to download a map of the Prague metro.
If you are staying at the Clarion Congress Hotel, we would advise that you take the 119 bus to Dejvicka and then take the metro, as this is the shortest journey time wise. You do however have to change lines, and this means a number of stairs and escalators. Once at Dejvicka, take the green line (Metro A) to Mustek, where you must change on to the yellow line (Metro B). You need to alight at Vysocanska, where signs for the Clarion Congress Hotel can be seen and followed. Your journey from the airport to the hotel should take no more than an hour at the most: 45 minutes is more likely.
Should you wish to take the route with the least changes, take the 179 bus to Nove Butovice. This takes you to directly to the yellow line (Metro B), where you can stay on until reaching Vysocanska. The bus journey itself will take about 45 minutes depending on the time of day and how busy it is. Once on the Metro, your journey should take another 25 minutes or so.
If you are not staying at the Clarion Congress hotel, ensure you know which Metro station is closest to your accommodation and plan your journey beforehand so you know where you are going.
Taxi
Another option is an airport taxi. A taxi should not cost more than 700 Kc. It is recommended that you agree a price before embarking on your journey, however bear in mind that your taxi driver may not speak English so this could prove difficult!
