SEB Salzburg 2012

Awards

The Society honours outstanding scientists in a number of ways:

President's Medallists

The President's Medals are awarded annually to young scientists of outstanding merit, normally within 10 years of obtaining their PhD. The recipients of these awards are selected from nominees submitted to the relevant Section Chair using a number of pre-set criteria. A presentation of the 2012 medals by the Society's President, Keith Lindsey, will take place during the Bidder Lecture at the SEB Salzburg. See who the recipients of the 2012 President's Medals are.

The President's Medallist talks will take place on the 29th and 30th of June 2012 between 9.00 and 10.30 am.

Young Scientist Award Session

The Young Scientist Award Session, or YSAS, is held each year at the Annual Main Meeting.  The session provides the opportunity for postgraduates and postdocs in the first three years of their first postdoc to showcase their talents. Read more about YSAS and how to enter.

The YSAS Talks will take place on the 29th of June between 9.30 and 10.30 am. A cash prize will be awarded to each of the winners at the SEB Conference Dinner on the 2nd of July. YSAS finalists receive free registration to the meeting and a complimentary ticket to the Conference Dinner.

Irene Manton Poster Prize

The Irene Manton Poster Prize is open to students and early career scientists. A prize of £100 is awarded to the best poster in each section (animal, cell and plant biology). Posters must be pre-registered in the competition (please email Talja to enter your poster) and will be judged during the poster sessions on the 30th June and 1st July. The deadline for entries to this poster prize is the 14th of June 2012.
