The Venue
Woodstock 2012 will take place at Abbazia di Spineto, an 11th century monastery located in the heart of Tuscany, Italy. Spanning over 1500 acres of rolling Tuscan countryside, Abbazia di Spineto will be our own private estate, with accommodation provided in 11 chalet type villas, complete with swimming pool. The surrounding lakes, woodlands and wildlife, combined with the history, culture, food, wine and stunning panoramas make Abbazia is the perfect setting for fish physiologists from all over the world to come together to celebrate the works of Chris Wood.
Please note that Abbazia di Spineto breeds horses, so if you are allegic you will need to bring your antihisthamines!
Accommodation
Because of the remote location of Abbazia di Spineto, delegates are required to book onsite accommodation (the nearest hotel outside of the venue is 15km away) at the time of registering. All accommodation during Woodstock will be shared. Villas accommodate between 8 and 18 people in twin rooms, with shared kitchens and lounges. Breakfast will be served each morning in the kitchens of the respective villas, whilst lunches and dinners will be served at various locations in and around the Abbey. Accommodation is £90 per person per night and should be booked during the registration process online.
