Education and Career Support – available through our Education and Public Affairs Section
Education and Training Support: A programme of educational events complements the scientific sessions during our Annual Main Meeting. Activities include popular debates, techniques training, pedagogical developments and address women in science issues.
Career Management Workshops: SEB runs careers workshops specially designed for bioscience postgraduates and post-docs. Sessions include self assessment, skills evaluation, decision-making, CVs and interview technique as well as vacancy resources. You can attend one of our sessions organised during the Annual Main Meeting or one of our stand-alone workshops which we run during the year. Alternatively, if you would like us to run an event at your institution, please contact Sarah Blackford on s.blackford@lancaster.ac.uk.
Other Career Events: The SEB also notifies its members of upcoming career events organised by other Societies, with some events being free to attend. Information is made available in our monthly e-letter, the SEB web-page and also on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Research-Specific workshops: topics include “funding opportunities”, “setting up and managing a research team”, “motivating staff and students”, “science communication” and other topics of interest.
