Satellite Meeting Funding
One benefit of being a member of the SEB is that you can apply for SEB funding to help with the organisation of satellite meetings; each of the SEB Sections is allocated £5,000 per annum for this purpose.
Procedure for Applications
In oder to apply for Satellite funding, you need to fill in an application form, and return it to to SEB Office. Included in the application form will be the following:
- The title of your meeting and the topics covered
- How much money you would like to apply for (maximum of £5,000)
- When you will need the money (Please note that if you need the money before the funding year applied for then you will need to present your application to the September sections meeting).
- What the money will be spent on
- Anticipated number of registrants to the meeting
- Anticipated number of registrants who are SEB members
- What discount you will be offering to SEB members
- How the sponsorship from the SEB will be acknowledged

Deadlines for Applications
Applications for satellite funding are considered at the SEB Section Meetings in April and September. Deadlines are as follows:
Applications for consideration at the April Meeting: 1st April each year
Applications for consideration at the September meeting: 1st September each year.
Applications can be made for the following financial years (year ending 31st August):
Animal Section: 2013
Cell Section: 2011
Education Section: 2012
Plant Section: 2012
Please note that if you need the money before the funding year applied for then you will need to present your application to the September sections meeting. Given the popularity of this benefit it is recommended you apply as soon as you can.
