Meet Dr. Gupta - SEB Ambassador for India!

Dr. Vijai Kumar Gupta
Lead Researcher (Molecular Glyco-biotechnology Group, NUI, Galway)
Dr. Vijai K. Gupta is the Lead Researcher at NUIG, Ireland. His areas of research and work expertise are: Fungal Biology & Biotechnology, Bio-fuels & Bioenergy Research, Plant-Microbial Interactions and Microbial Biotechnology.
Vijai was awarded his Ph.D degree in Microbiology from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Faizabad, India. Before joining NUIG in 2010 as a Postdoctoral Researcher he worked as Assistant Professor at the Department of Biotechnology, FASC, MITS University, Lakshmangarh (Sikar), Rajasthan, India.
Vijai is an active member of several Societies and has received various awards including “Young Scientist Award” and “Outstanding Higher Education Leader Award”.
He is also serving as editor of various journals including: Scientific Reports, Frontiers in Plant Science, Frontiers in Microbiology, BMC Microbiology, PLOSOne and has 45 articles and many book chapters in his hands.
His work with fungi has been complemented by contributions to biotechnological development, molecular diversity, disease diagnostic, plant pathology, fungal-plant interaction, biofuel & bioenergy and industrial applications.
