SEB seeks Animal Section Chair

The SEB is seeking a new person to take on the role of Animal Section Chair when our current chair, Craig Franklin, steps down in July 2017 to become SEB Vice-President.

The Animal Section Chair manages and co-ordinates the work of the SEB Animal Section but the successful nominee will also be a member of SEB Council, a trustee of SEB the Charity and a Director of SEB the Company.  The appointment is for four years and will begin in July 2017.

A key part of the role is setting the strategic direction of the SEB Animal Section, contributing to the SEB strategy and working with other members of SEB Council.  Successful candidates are likely to have experience in working with Committees and contributing to strategy.

Nominations will be accepted from all members of SEB who are animal scientists and appointment to the role is by election by SEB Animal science members.

SEB is committed to ensuring its activities embrace diversity and promote equality of opportunity. We seek a diversity of representatives in all our activities. We welcome all applications, including from individuals in groups historically underrepresented in SEB leadership positions.

If you are interested in being nominated for this position please read the Animal Section Chair Role Description. To apply please complete the Animal Section Chair Nomination Form and return this to Paul Hutchinson on p.hutchinson@sebiology.org. You must be a member of SEB in order to be eligible for nomination and your nomination must be supported by 2 current SEB members.

The closing date for nominations is Friday 26th May 2017 and the election will close on Monday 26th June 2016.
