Plant Biotic Interactions

The Plant Biotic Interactions group was formed recently with the aim of covering the full range of interactions between plants and other organisms. This includes interactions with parasites such as herbivorous pests (insects, etc.) and disease-causing micro-organisms, as well as beneficial interactions, such as rhizobacterial and mycorrhizal associations. We are keen to involve researchers working on these areas at all scales, from molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry to evolution and ecology.

Dr Mike Roberts, (University of Lancaster) is the group convenor MikeRoberts.

Mike is based in the Lancaster Environment Centre, Lancaster University, UK. His main interests in recent years have been the regulation of plant responses to pests and pathogens, and in particular, how these responses may be impacted by abiotic factors. Prior to his current position, he worked on microsporogenesis and pollen development at the University of Leicester, and held a Royal Society University Research Fellowship at the University of York.
