Apply to attend: Parliamentary Links Day 2021

   House Of Commons - Paarliament

We have an exciting opportunity for you to have your opinion heard at a national level and to gain a unique insight into UK Parliamentary Processes.

The SEB is a UK Parliamentary Steering Group partner. As such our members may apply to attend the Parliamentary Links Day 2021 which will take place online on Tuesday 22nd June from 10:00 am (BST).

This in an annual event organised by the Royal Society of Biology to strengthen dialogue between the science and engineering community and UK Parliament. It helps to provide MPs with a more rounded understanding of the scientific issues we face. The theme for this year’s events is Science and Climate Change and will feature contributions from a number of distinguished speakers.

Attendees you will have the chance to submit a short question during the event, and can also send any additional longer questions to events@rsb.org.uk prior to the session by the 8th June.
As the SEB is a Parliamentary Steering Group partner, our questions will get priority in the meeting. Due to the global significance of this year’s theme, we would encourage all of our members to register and submit questions even if you are not based in the UK. Please include your country, and SEB affiliation alongside your question when submitting this.

We are putting out a call for any SEB members who would be interested in attending the event and adding to the discussion around public trust in science. This is a great opportunity open to any SEB member who would like to come forward, but may be particularly valuable experience and addition to your CV If you are interested in Scientific Policy, Politics, Public Engagement in Science, or Science Communications.
