In this talk, Andrea Morash will give a talk titled “Understanding the Unique Physiology of Elasmobranchs for their Conservation”.
Andrea's previous publications in Conservation Physiology:
- Pass the salt: physiological consequences of ecologically relevant hyposmotic exposure in juvenile gummy sharks (Mustelus antarcticus) and school sharks (Galeorhinus galeus)
- The endemic and endangered Maugean Skate (Zearaja maugeana) exhibits short-term severe hypoxia tolerance
- A product of its environment: the epaulette shark (Hemiscyllium ocellatum) exhibits physiological tolerance to elevated environmental CO2
The session will consist of a 30 minute talk followed by a 15 minute Q&A session in which the audience will be able to address questions to the author.
