Overview of the project:
The Department of Biology/College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks candidates for non tenure-track Teaching Faculty Position in Genetics.

The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to teach a sophomore-level Genetics course for biology majors. Additional teaching responsibilities could include undergraduate Microbiology courses. Teaching, non-tenure-track positions provide substantial opportunities for professional growth and long-term contributions to education at UAB. Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in biological or biomedical sciences or related discipline. Laboratory-based research experience in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or a related field. Demonstrated experience and track record of teaching excellence in undergraduate Genetics teaching. Demonstrated commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusion in education as indicated by an ability to effectively relate to students of diverse backgrounds in a classroom context, including an understanding and respect for cultural, ethnic, and individual differences. Ability to teach high enrollment courses.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include demonstrated experience in undergraduate Microbiology teaching, course development and developing instructional laboratory curricula, especially in Genetics or Molecular Biology. Also a strong interest in evidence-based pedagogies including the design and implementation of Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs) and strategies to increase inclusivity
