Overview of Lancaster University:

Out of over 120 UK Universities, Lancaster is placed 8th by the Complete University Guide 2021, 10th by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021 and 10th by The Guardian University Guide 2021. In the QS World Rankings Lancaster ranks 135th out of more than 1,000 universities. Lancaster is 3rd in the UK for graduate-level employment in the Complete University Guide 2021 with 89% of Lancaster students going into professional work or further education after graduation. As well as being highly placed in the rankings, Lancaster was awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2017. Overview of the project:

The New Phytologist Foundation is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our team as Forum Editor for New Phytologist. This post holder will take ownership of the Forum section of the journal; tasked specifically with developing and redefining the look and feel of the section in addition to writing, commissioning and editing content. This is a varied and intellectually stimulating position.


The role holder will possess broad scientific knowledge and training, with excellent writing skills, and the ability to analyze and appreciate new areas of research. Experience and interest in science writing, together with broader communication skills and community engagement through online initiatives are essential. 

This offers an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant journal team at an exciting and innovative time for the publishing industry. The post is to be based at Lancaster University with the possibility of remote working and is available immediately.
