We have three categories of membership and membership benefits vary for each membership type:

  • Student membership: for undergraduate or postgraduate students
  • Early career scientist membership:  for those that have graduated with a PhD, and no more than five years have passed since their graduation date.
  • Full membership: for practising biologists, academics or researchers.

Students and early career scientists want to joining the SEB in order to apply for the CoB travel grant must:

  • apply for a multi-year membership and show us that you qualify for this membership (i.e.your student/early career scientist status should not change before your membership is due to expire)

Membership Fees

Each category involves different fees, which can vary with the country you apply from.
You can pay your fees using a card, cheque, bank transfer or telephone. And to make sure your membership is always up to date, we will contact you three months before you need to renew your membership.

We will need some documentation from you when applying to join us to ensure you are applying for the right membership for you. Please read the requirements carefully and then fill in an application form.
