A message from the SEB president

12 Mar 2020 - By: SEB

SEB Members,

I don’t need to tell you that we are living through incredibly tough times for so many of us. I sincerely hope you and the ones you love and care about are doing OK.

With the measures put into place worldwide to deal with COVID-19, we have no alternative but to put on hold the Annual conference and satellite meetings which were due to take place in Prague this year. It is a regrettable but necessary decision.

I know that many will have already made plans and bookings, but, as you are aware in your own workplaces, the decision to cancel and postpone all activities is inevitable. I also know and acknowledge the hard work that has already been put in for those of you organising sessions for Prague 2020. We will shortly be in contact with you to discuss possible strategies, including transferring your session to the 2021 SEB Meeting in Antwerp.

We are fortunate to be in the position that we can move all SEB operations remotely and practice social distancing to do our part in flattening the COVID-19 curve.

The SEB team remains available to answer your queries or concerns by email. We will provide our members with whatever support we can under these circumstances.

Like you, we at the SEB are focused on the health and wellbeing of our team, our families, and the people we work with. One of our strengths is our sense of community and our supportive networks.

On behalf of Council and the Executive of the SEB, I wish you all the best as we make our way through this world-wide health crisis. Stay safe.

Best wishes
