Overview
The briefing session offers an opportunity to discover more about the mentoring scheme, receive training on mentoring skills, and an opportunity to network with other members of SEB. You will be asked to complete a full registration form after attending the briefing. Once you are matched you will also receive a starter pack to support your mentoring partnership.

The SEB mentoring session begins with a briefing session. There are two sessions to choose from. Session 1 is for those who are new to the scheme, and session 2 is for anyone who has taken part previously.
Which session should I join?

Session 1
8th October 11am -1 pm (UK Time)
In this hands-on session we will set out how the SEB Mentoring Scheme will work, and explore the tools and skills that can help to build a mentoring partnership. It will also give you an opportunity to network with members of SEB and discover any potential matches.
This session will:
- explore practices and skills required for working in a mentoring partnership
- outline how the scheme works and the different facets involved
- identify tools and practices to support effective, confident mentoring
Session 2
9th October 10am - 12pm (UK time)
This session is designed for experienced mentors, and for those who have already taken part in the SEB Mentoring Scheme previously. However, any mentees, new orretunring may attend this session. It offers a deeper dive into the practices that underpin effective, confident mentoring partnerships with a focus on real‑world challenges, reflective practice, and practical tools you can use immediately.
In this interactive session, we will outline how the 2026–2027 scheme will run and explore advanced tools and approaches that support purposeful mentoring conversations. You will also have the opportunity to connect with other SEB members and identify potential matches for the year ahead.
Recorded option
We understand that not everyone can attend at the scheduled times. To make sure this doesn't prevent anyone from joining the scheme, we also offer a recorded training option. To choose this, click the booking link and select the recorded session option when prompted. You'll receive access to a recording so you can complete the training at a time that works for you.
What happens next?
At the end of the breifing session, you will be given a form to express your interests and topic areas. You must fill out this form if you wish to participate in the mentoring scheme as it assists us in matching you with a suitable mentor or mentee. Should you decide not to participate after the briefing session, you will have the option to opt-out.
Cost
The scheme is FREE and exclusive to SEB members.
