Hi, I'm Nick Freestone, an Associate Professor in Physiology at Kingston University in south-west London, UK. I will be running a session, with my colleague Dr Anna Morgan from King's College, London, on Intersectionality in the Outreach, Education and Diversity workshop series. We will be looking at barriers to both student and academic staff progression within the Higher Education system. We will hopefully be able to share best practice with you as to ways in which these barriers might be overcome. We would love to hear your views, so please do come along.

Hi! I'm Anusha Shankar, an Assistant Professor at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Hyderabad. I am around in Florence from July 4-10 and am planning to explore Florence a bit before the conference. I especially love salsa/bachata/kizomba and any kind of partner dancing, and will be looking to attend some dance socials while I'm there. Also wander around and see what else I see. Hi there!
I am a post-doc at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, supervised by Prof. Tracy Lawson. My area of research stomatal blue light responses, photosynthesis, and agroecology! This is my first SEB conference, I am excited to network and discover what I could do next career-wise. Florence is my favourite city, and I am staying a few days after the conference if you would like to explore with me!
