RSB Education Policy Officer (Science Education Policy Alliance)

The RSB is seeking a part time Education Policy officer to support the Science Education Policy Alliance (SEPA), a partnership that brings together the Association for Science Education, Institute of Physics, Royal Society, Royal Society of Biology and Royal Society of Chemistry. RSB acts as host organisation for SEPA, and provides secretariat support for the group.
The officer and will work closely with the Head of Education Policy, SEPA Chairs, group and organisation leads to drive forward SEPA's aims and goals in line three priority areas: investment in science education, influencing curriculum and assessment reform, and building on SEPA's successes. The officer will provide administrative support for SEPA's strategic group and task and finish groups, coordinate with organisations to reach consensus, draft cross-organisation comms and publications and support SEPA events.
This role focuses on supporting a partnership of five organisations working together on policy related to teaching and learning of the sciences, primarily in primary and secondary schools in England, and would suit a variety of candidate experience, for example: a primary science lead or secondary science teacher looking to transition out of the classroom; a candidate with experience in science education looking to return to work after a career break; an individual with education engagement, comms or policy experience.
