Join Sense about Science on 16 October 2026 for a free workshop designed to help Early Career Researchers engage confidently with the media, policymakers and public debates about science.
Sense about Science is hosting a Standing up for Science workshop at the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute on Friday 16 October 2026, from 10:00 to 16:00.
The workshop will give Early Career Researchers the opportunity to hear from experienced researchers, journalists and policy professionals, and learn more about communicating complex scientific topics and engaging with the media and policymakers. Sessions will also explore common concerns around discussing research publicly and provide practical support for handling difficult conversations about science and evidence.
Places are free and include lunch and refreshments.
Travel costs are not covered, so participants are encouraged to contact their institution if they require support with travel.
