Our Commitment to a safe, inclusive environment

At the Society for Experimental Biology, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive community for all. As part of this commitment, we have a Code of Conduct

At the Society for Experimental Biology, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive community for all. As part of this commitment, we have a Code of Conduct that outlines the standards of behaviour we expect from anyone engaging with SEB, whether as a member, delegate, speaker, or supporter.

We encourage everyone to take a few minutes to review the policy, which supports our aim of maintaining a positive and welcoming space where all individuals feel valued and safe. We ask that all delegates at SEB events and our members uphold the SEB Code of Conduct to help create the respectful atmosphere we are so proud of.

If you experience anything at an SEB event that makes you feel uncomfortable, we encourage you to let us know.
You can report concerns via our confidential   anti-harassment reporting form.
Reports can be submitted anonymously, and we welcome all feedback, no matter how big or small the incident may seem.

These reports help us identify patterns, support others who may have similar experiences, and take steps to improve where needed.

SEB staff are also available at all events to provide immediate support if something happens in the moment.

While we hope no one will ever need to use the reporting form, we want everyone to know that it’s there just in case. Our goal is, and always will be, to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for everyone in the SEB community.

Thank you for being part of the SEB!
