SEB Statement on EU Referendum

From SEB President, Prof Patrick J. Hussey

Many of you will have read about the significant event that occurred in the United Kingdom last week when a small majority of the population voted for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union.  The ramifications of this decision are still being discussed and the political fallout in the UK has been extensive.  However, the work of SEB goes on.

SEB is an organisation that works across international boundaries and we believe that cooperation among scientists, wherever located, is essential in solving some of the most important challenges affecting the future of our planet and our environment.  Our journals have an international reputation and are ranked among the highest in their subject areas.  Our scientific meetings are well regarded and well attended.  We help our members and those who attend our meetings or read our journals to make extraordinary connections.  So, despite the political turmoil, the SEB will continue to promote experimental biology and support experimental biologists wherever they are located in the World.

With thanks for your continuing support,

Patrick Hussey Signature
