Transportation to Tvärminne from Helsinki will be provided on the afternoon of Monday, 3rd October, at 3pm, and return transportation to Helsinki from Tvärminne will be provided on the morning of Friday 7th, October. Arrival to Helsinki will be at about 11am on Friday. The bus on Monday 3rd October will depart from a bus stop for charter busses located in front of the museum Kiasma; please see below map for pickup location:
Travel outside these times should be arranged independently (note that there is no public transport for getting directly to the station). If you are making your own way to the station, here is a rough guide of getting there (though please be advised trains can be quite sporadic; you can check train schedules via this website. There are alternative routes available which include buses; contact [email protected] if you require further assistance with planning your journey):
- Board the Ring Rail Commuter train P towards Helsinki via Tikkurila and travel 10 stops to Pasila: 24 minutes
- Take next train to Karjaa: 49 minutes
- Take next train to travel 3 stops to Lappohja: 34 minutes
- Take a taxi to Tvärminne Zoological Station (local taxi company: https://taxijessica.fi/taxi-jessica-taxiservice-at-hanko-raasepori-area/ contact no: 0400 – 613 400 or email [email protected] to pre book): 14 minutes
Travel to Finland
The closest international airport is in Helsinki-Vantaa, which has train and bus connections to central Helsinki, where the transportation to Tvärminnne departs from.
Helsinki can be accessed by ferry from e.g., Tallinne or Stockholm.
