Integrative Plant Biology is a new SEB interest group for researchers engaged in mathematical and systems approaches to biological questions in the plant sciences.
Although it is recognised that the use of such approaches cuts across all of the interest groups of the Plant, Animal and Cell Sections of the SEB, the application of mathematical and computational modelling in biology presents specific common challenges that can most usefully be addressed within a single group that also maintains strong links with the other interest groups of the SEB.
We are able to support and foster the development of research in this area through the funding or part-funding of meetings both outside and at the SEB Annual Conference and we are particularly keen to encourage the involvement of young PhD and postdoctoral scientists.
