The Society for Experimental Biology is delighted to take part in this celebration with two featured activities that showcase our dedication to innovation in teaching and to fostering inclusive scientific spaces.
 

OED Webinar Series: Using AI in student assessment, marking, and feedback

Taking place tomorrow, on Wednesday 15 October, our OED webinar will explore how artificial intelligence (AI)  can be used in student assessment, marking, and feedback.
Nigel Francis and Jordon Millwardwill discuss inclusive and effective ways to integrate AI into teaching, focusing on fairness, accessibility, and enhancing the student learning experience.

The session is nearly full, reflecting strong interest in this timely topic and SEB’s ongoing efforts to promote equity and innovation in biology education.

Minecraft Foxes: Teaching Ecology Through Play

SEB’s second Biology Week feature takes a creative approach to science education. Our “Minecraft Foxes” resource uses the popular game Minecraft to explore key ecology concepts in a playful, interactive way.

Through digital storytelling and problem-solving, learners can observe ecological relationships, understand species interactions, and develop a deeper appreciation for the balance of natural systems! all while building their own virtual worlds.
