In 1974, the SEB recognized Irene Manton's significant contributions by awarding her the prestigious Bidder Lecture. This accolade, in honour of her dedication and service to the SEB, was complemented by the naming of the Poster Prize in her honour, known as the Irene Manton Poster Prize.
Open to students and early career scientists, this award is presented at the SEB Annual Conference. A cash prize of £100 is bestowed upon the best poster in each of the sections: Animal, Cell, Plant and OED.
HOW TO ENTER
- Submit an abstract online for a relevant session at the SEB Conference on or before 08 March 2024 and tick the box which states "I would like to be considered for Irene Manton poster prize".
- A PDF version of your final poster must be submitted via our online portal, by 21 May 2024. Posters will be judged during the poster sessions at the SEB Conference.
- In the circumstance where your oral abstract submission for the SEB Conference has been accepted for poster presentation, you will still have the opportunity to apply for the Irene Manton poster prize and will need to provide a PDF of the final poster to enter the competition.
The winners of the award will be announced at the Awards Dinner on 4th July 2024.
