Book your place for the upcoming Standing up for Science Workshop for ECR's

Research communication is a vital aspect of conducting responsible science, but it can often feel daunting to engage with the wider public.

Worries and concerns around polarisation, disinformation or information being misunderstood or taken out of context can sometimes deter researchers from wanting to engage.

This can feel even more daunting for Early-Career Researchers (ECRs) at the start of their research career.

 

One of the ways that Sense about Science supports ECRs in navigating this complex environment is through their   Standing up for Science Workshops, a core part of the Voice of Young Science (VoYS) programme, of which The Society for Experimental Biology is a partner.

These workshops aim to motivate, empower, and equip ECRs to participate in public discussions on science and evidence and to learn how to engage effectively with policymakers and the media.

The next workshop will be held online on Friday 11th September, 10:00 am – 1:30 pm. 
Attendees will learn from prominent researchers with experience engaging the media, public, and policymakers, as well as gaining insights from highly regarded media and policy professionals.
