Patricia Wright completed her undergraduate Honours BSc at McMaster University, Canada and PhD at the University of British Columbia, Canada, before going on to a Killam Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Ottawa and then a Fogarty International Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, U.S. She has spent her academic career at the University of Guelph, Canada studying how fish and other aquatic animals cope with extreme environmental challenges, with a particular focus on the physiological strategies that allow amphibious fishes to transition between water and land.
She now serves as the Deputy-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Experimental Biology.
