Awards nominations are open for SEB Annual Conference 2027

The SEB invites nominations for the President's Medal and Plenary Lecture Awards for 2027

The Society for Experimental Biology is calling for nominations for two of its most esteemed awards: the President’s Medal and the Plenary Lecture Award.
These accolades recognise outstanding contributions to experimental biology and will be presented during the conference scheduled in 2027.

President’s Medal Award

The President’s Medal honors young scientists who have demonstrated exceptional merit in their field. Each year, one award is given per section: Animal, Cell, Plant, and Outreach, Education, and Diversity (OED).
Nominees should be within ten years post-graduation from their highest degree and have shown scientific excellence, impact, and emerging leadership.
 

The deadline for nominations is 23 October 2026.


Plenary Lecture Award

The Plenary Lecture Award recognizes distinguished scientists who have demonstrated excellence in their fields of research or OED practice.
Each year, the work of George Parker Bidder III and Harold Woolhouse is honored with plenary lectures alongside the Cell Biology and OED plenary lectures. Lecturers are given by prominent scientists of outstanding merit.

Nominations for both awards are open until their respective deadlines.
The SEB encourages members to recognize and celebrate the achievements of their peers by submitting nominations through the SEB awards portal.

The deadline for nominations is 30 October 2026.
