Book Your Place for the Next Conservation Physiology Community Conversation
Join us on Tuesday 20 October at 16:00 (UK time) for the next Conservation Physiology Community Conversation, featuring Dr Madison Earhart from the University of British Columbia.
This free online session is the third instalment of the Conservation Physiology Community Conversations series, which is aimed particularly at students and early career researchers looking to develop a career in conservation physiology or related fields. The series explores topics including academic publishing, scientific writing and developing collaborations.
Weaving together science to inform white sturgeon conservation
In this session, Dr Madison Earhart will explore how physiology, molecular biology, movement and community science can be brought together to inform holistic conservation and management strategies for threatened white sturgeon in British Columbia.
Working alongside First Nations, anglers, NGOs, academics and other partners, Madison has developed and deployed novel biomarker tools to assess population stressors in wild sturgeon. Her work demonstrates how combining different scientific approaches with community knowledge and collaboration can help improve conservation and management strategies.
The session is open to researchers at all career stages, with a particular focus on students and early career researchers working in conservation physiology.
The event is free to attend. Register today to secure your place. Once registered, you will receive the Zoom joining details one day before the event.
We hope to see you there
Best regards,
