To place an emphasis on this, we will be using the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals as a framework for sessions and activities throughout the conference. This should be seen as a guide to enhance your proposed session and is an invitation to view and consider how your chosen field or topic of interest fits in with innovative science, sustainable development, and what greater impact current research may have in the future. Where possible, we also invite you to consider how other sections (animal, plant and cell) may tie into your session and opportunities for cross-disciplinary objectives.

Propose a satellite event
SEB Satellite Event :
Applicatnts for satellite events must be members of the SEB the scientific topic of the proposed event must provide an introduction to or a continuation of the science covered at the SEB annuanl conference to which it would be attached
Satellitte funding: A maximum of £6,500 can be applied for
Application deadline: Applications can be submitted each year on the following deadlines: 1 November. proposals must be submitted by 1 November in the year prior to the event taking place. (i.e. proposals for 2026 should be submitted by 1 November 2025).
Frequencey: Satellitete events take place annaully for each section
Decision: We aim to inform you of the outcome of your application within 1 month of the application deadline.

Propose a symposium event
SEB Symposium:
Applicants for symposium funding must be members of the SEB the scientific topic of the proposed event must be within SEB’s scientific remit.
Symposium funding: A maximum of £14,000 can be applied for per event
Application deadlines: Applications can be submitted on 1 February 2025 for events taking place in 2025.
Frequency: SEB Sections run a symposia every two years with the Animal Biology and OED Section running in even years (i.e. 2026, 2028) and Cell and Plant Biology in odd years (i.e. 2025, 2027).
Decisions: We aim to inform you of the outcome of your application within 1 month of the application deadline.
