Last day to submit your session proposal – SEB Glasgow 2027

Taking place from 6–8 July 2027 at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow, the conference will explore the theme “Experimental Biology Informing Policy”, bringing together researchers and experts to explore how experimental biology can inform policy and address key challenges facing society.

We are inviting proposals for sessions and events across   Animal Biology, Plant Biology, Cell Biology, and Outreach, Education and Diversity.
 

ANIMAL SESSION THEMES

The Animal Section would be delighted to receive satellite and session proposals for the main conference at Glasgow.
 

We welcome applications in the following areas but are happy to receive proposals in any area of the   Animal Section Interest Groups.

We invite any SEB member who is interested in taking a more active role. The group focuses on:
 

• Outreach - public engagement with experimental biology and encouraging the next generation of scientist

• Diversity - promoting an inclusive environment at the SEB and improving diversity in science and academia more widely
  
   

CROSS DISCIPLINARY SESSION PROPOSALS

The Animal, Plant and Cell Sections are interested to receive proposals for microbiome-related sessions to promote the latest microbiome research and contemporary techniques.

Whether you have an idea for a focused scientific session, an interdisciplinary discussion, or an engaging event that brings together different perspectives, this is your opportunity to contribute to the conference programme.
 

The SEB team will support session organisers with the practical and logistical aspects of organising their session, including abstract management, registration, promotion and budget support.

PRESIDENT'S MEDAL AWARDS

The SEB President's Medals are awarded annually to young scientists of outstanding merit.
Nominations are now open for The SEB President's Medals that will be presented at our Annual Conference in Glasgow

 
There is an award for each section   (Animal, Cell, Plant   and   EOD).  and we would like to invite you to submit nominations for suitable candidates using our   simple online form.

SEB ANNUAL LECTURE  AWARDS

Each year at the Annual Conference of the SEB, the work of George Parker Bidder III and Harold Woolhouse is honored with plenary lectures alongside the Cell Biology and the OED plenary lecture.

Lecturers are given by prominent scientists of outstanding merit who have demonstrated excellence in their fields of research.
