Please include details of possible speakers. The SEB ethos is to include students and early career scientists, and you will be expected to select some of your talks from post-graduate/ early career researcher submissions.
The Society for Experimental Biology is committed to increasing bioscience equality and diversity. Our work in this area permeates through all our activities, and we would like to ask you to be mindful of this commitment when proposing speakers. In particular, for SEB events, there is an expectation that 33% of speakers will be female, with a minimum of 25%. There should also be a fair career stage and geographical representation.

Talk Times
Invited speaker talks are allocated 30 minutes and submitted talks are allocated 15 minutes. For clarity, submitted talks are abstract submissions that your session will receive from conference delegates.
If you are assigned a full-day session, you will have 3 x 30-minute invited speaker talks, with the rest of the slot assigned to submitted talks.
If you are assigned a half-day session, you will have 2 x 30-minute invited speaker talks, with the rest of the slot assigned to submitted talks.
We ask for 3 minutes within their allocated time to be left for any questions from the audience.
Please bear this in mind when you select the number of invited speakers.
