We want to inform you that there are only a few days left to submit your nominations for the prestigious  SEB awards along with your conference session proposals!
 

PROPOSE A SESSION AT THE SEB ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN FLORENCE

There are only a few days left for you to submit a session for the SEB Conference - Florence 2026 (7- 9 July 2026.)


ANIMAL SESSION THEMES

The Animal Section would be delighted to receive satellite and session proposals for the main conference at Florence.
We welcome applications in the following areas but are happy to receive proposals in any area of the Animal Section Interest Groups.

We invite any SEB member who is interested in taking a more active role. The group focuses on:
 

  • Outreach - public engagement with experimental biology and encouraging the next generation of scientist
     
  • Education - innovative and inclusive bioscience education and pedagogical methods
     
  • Diversity - promoting an inclusive environment at the SEB and improving diversity in science and academia more widely

     

CROSS DISCIPLINARY SESSION PROPOSALS

The Animal, Plant and Cell Sections are interested to receive proposals for microbiome-related sessions to promote the latest microbiome research and contemporary techniques.

PRESIDENT'S MEDAL AWARDS

The SEB President's Medals are awarded annually to young scientists of outstanding merit.
Nominations are now open for The SEB President's Medals that will be presented at our Annual Conference in Florence, Italy, from 7- 9 July 2026.
 
There is an award for each section (AnimalCellPlant and EOD) and we would like to invite you to submit nominations for suitable candidates using our simple online form.

Application deadline: 24 October 2025.

SEB ANNUAL LECTURE  AWARDS

Each year at the Annual Conference of the SEB, the work of George Parker Bidder III and Harold Woolhouse is honored with plenary lectures alongside the Cell Biology and the OED plenary lecture.

Lecturers are given by prominent scientists of outstanding merit who have demonstrated excellence in their fields of research.
