The SEB Early Career Researcher Symposium in Animal Biology will take place at Tvärminne Zoological Station, Finland from 3rd October to 7th October 2022. The Symposium brings together early career researchers from across the Animal Biology Section to showcase their work and meet and connect with other ECRs within a unique setting and laid back atmosphere in picturesque southern Finland. Places are limited to 40 attendees. Accommodation (including meals, linen and towels) are included in the (free) registration. Please note that registration has now reached full capacity, but further applicants will be added to a waiting list and informed if a space becomes available.

The meeting will be intended for in-person attendance. Virtual attendance is limited to those who would otherwise have to cancel, for example, due to illness, to allow for presentations to be delivered virtually. This limitation is because our aim is to facilitate in-person attendance by having no registration fees.

Eligibility

The event is intended for PhD candidates and Postdoctoral researchers within the remits of the SEB Animal Section (membership not required). Master’s students may apply to join a waiting list from where attendees will be admitted if space is available at the end of registration period (September 4th 2022). At the time of registration, the attendees must submit an abstract, and they may be excluded from attending if the abstract is not related to a relevant research field. Places will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis pending the eligibility criteria are filled.
